Anyways. That's why I haven't posted lately, but that's not all I have to post about. We went camping!

This past weekend we both got Friday off work and went up to Flagstaff to camp with my brother and his best friend.

I know, what kind of weirdos go camping the weekend after Labor Day Weekend?? Well, we're practical people, and didn't feel like dealing with the holiday traffic, drunk people, etc.

Plus, the reason for the trip was to celebrate my brother, Travis', birthday, which was last friday...so it was only fitting to have the trip on the weekend of his actual birthday. It's been our tradition (with Travis, our dad, and I) to go camping Labor Day weekend as celebration each year, since it's always so close (if not on) to his birthday.

This year our dad's out of town (semi-permanently), so we planned it out with a few other people who didn't end up going, and it turned out to be just the four of us. It was fun because we'd all gone last year as well, except last year our dad came too.

So we're making new traditions as we get older...with Russell as well as Trav's friend coming. This year we went to our grandparents' cabin up in the woods outside of Flagstaff, but Russell and I slept in the tent outside (we still wanted the "camping experience!"). Travis brought Sadie, who was our dog when we lived at home, then he took her with him when he moved out. That was really great, since I hadn't seen her in a while.

Trav has a couple of friends in Flagstaff, so they came up on Saturday to visit. We taught them a game, and they taught us a game...we laughed until our tummies hurt!

I took a ton of pictures with his (DIGITAL!!!) camera, which was sooo much fun, we played a lot of random games (especially card games), and all-in-all, it was a blast.

Notice the pictures sprinkled throughout this...I didn't have a "picture section" in my last post, which I regret, so I'm trying to make up for it now. The one of Travis holding up Russell was inspired by the ice chest somehow melting a block of ice into the shape of a gun...so then, of course, it was a Kodak moment. There's a picture of our coals from the fire one night...as well as other random ones: the treeline across the meadow, a picture of the (San Fransisco) Peaks, a chipmunk, our game of "Risk," and Sadie (the dog).
*Note*:I have to give credit to Travis, most of those pictures were taken by him, the rest were taken by me.
Anyways...back to work. I'll be posting more often soon!
Didn't think I was going to forget the links, did you?!?
